Mission Statement

The Northeast CT Economic Alliance, Inc. is a regional non-profit 501(c)3 economic development corporation that uniquely serves small businesses in northeast Connecticut by providing loans to new and existing businesses primarily unable to obtain funding from traditional lending sources. The Northeast CT Economic Alliance works closely with local and regional economic development entities. Its primary goals are to facilitate economic growth, provide technical assistance and referrals, create and retain jobs, improve operations and foster educational activities which will enrich the long-term vitality of the region.

What We Do

The Northeast Alliance has been serving the needs of small business since 1990. We provide loans and business development resources to both start-up and exiting businesses in our 21-town region of Northeast Connecticut that are seeking to expand, diversify, retain business or improve operations.

The Northeast Alliance primarily serves businesses that have been unable to secure credit through conventional sources. We work closely with our clients to assess their lending needs and capabilities, determine the best financing options, and guide them through the entire process – from application to closing.

In addition to financing, we also;

• counsel potential entrepreneurs on the realities of starting a small business
• assist with business plan development
• provide guidance and advice to startup businesses during their early years
• make referrals to other agencies and organizations that provides services that might be of benefit. 

The Northeast Alliance is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors who possess valuable business experience and knowledge, and a small professional staff. Our office is located in Willimantic, Connecticut and is hosted by Eastern CT State University.
